Raised Hood

OMG I can't believe I actually did this, this is probably the gayest thing I've ever done to the car.

Not only the car is gay now, its actually rice too. I guess it has all to do with the owner where his blood is full of ricer DNA hehe!

OK so I went ahead and and did it anyways because I'm really curious to find out whether does it really helps in assisting the hot air to escape.

After a few days of driving, my observation concluded that hot air does escape from both sides of the hood when the car is idle, and even more obvious when the radiator fan kicks in.

You can literally put your hand near the side of the hood and you can feel the hot air being blown out. But however not so much on the top near the windscreen washer because I did not raise the hood high enough to give it enough clearance on the top.

Longer screw with added washers

Hood is now raised a little

bro spell,

you're waiting to install a ventilated CF hood? any idea whats the weight of it?

although the vios's hood is sort of light, im pretty sure the CF hood will be DAMN light!

CF = nice without the rice factor

that was probably one of the mod i did after i got my ride back in 2006, instead of raising the hood, i just untag the rubber tail end left n right and tied with cable. so the hot air will flow in a V pattern flow backwards. all these can be DIY at home. fuck! the mechanic SKL put back the rubber, i have to do it again!

i do not recommend to let heat dispose at the middle because under weather condition, it might blur your windscreen.

aluminium hood is also a good way to dissapate heat and shave weight off but it's also scorching hot during summer :(

yeah its very easy, all you need is to find some washers which matches the size of your bolt, just like the 1st pic.

What happens when it rains hard? Would water splash through the opening slits and drench everything under the hood?
