text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I placed an order for an AMG CLA45 S back in July 2019, because of the customized color and no thanks to the covid-19 pandemic the car could only reach me just couple of days before New Year.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And it is not the New Year of 2020 but 2021 so it literally took them close to 18 freaking months to get the car to me.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Of course the title is a bit misleading here, I am not able to test the AMG against the Vios Turbo as of now as the car requires a run in period of 1,500 km before I can start trashing it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">However, I was able to test drive the AMG demo car at the Mercedes showroom during the day I collected the car.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />Based on initial feeling, I think the AMG might not be able to shake the Vios Turbo off its tail on the straight in stock form, say for example a test of rolling start from 100 km/h to 200 km/h.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Of course this is totally just based on my own gut feel.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Don't get me wrong, the AMG is a nice all rounded car to drive with a lot of fancy features.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And of course, the Vios Turbo is only a car that could only go fast on the straight and that is about it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Only as of recent, we noticed there were some bubbling and we decided that it is time to upgrade the cooling system of the car once and for all.<br />
<br />
Forged Racing aluminium radiator, Mishimoto racing low temperature 68 degree thermostat and a TRD 1.3 bar radiator cap sums it all.<br />
<br />
Both the radiator and thermostat comes with lifetime manufacturer warranty, no complaints there and the engine is purring like a kitten now.<br />

As a matter of fact, I had to reduce the boost in order to achieve a more pleasant driving experience.<br />
<br />
But as of today, everything changed.<br />
<br />
Because I wasn't able to lay my hands on the Toyo R888s hence I decided to give Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08R a try.<br />
<br />
And my oh my, these babies have so much grip in them I'm actually getting the feeling that the car is now under powered and thinking of sending the car back to Toby to restore the boost.<br />

By comparing chart with the Stage 1 Turbo kit, we could see that there isn't any difference in the power delivery at the low end so we don't really experience any turbo lag at all.</div>

We've already got the <a href="https://www.viosturbo.com/2010/10/stage-2-turbo-project-gt-auto-fuel-rail.html" target="_blank">fuel rail</a> covered, and now that we're running the <a href="https://www.viosturbo.com/2011/09/stage-2-turbo-sard-denso-fuel-injectors.html" target="_blank">SARD 800cc injectors</a> the stock fueling system will need to be converted to a return setup.<br />

Things like the fuel pump and regulator will definitely need to be upgraded as well. We'll cover the fuel pump setup in a later post and focus on the fuel pressure regulator first.<br />

<br />
We were told that they are currently on back orders so we had to wait patiently. When it finally arrived and the moment I laid my eyes upon it, I knew it was worth the wait.<br />
<br />
Based on the Garret GTX series, here are some key highlights of the turbo:<br />
<br />
* Owen's conical compressor wheel nut<br />
* Owen's competition spec bearing cages and bearings<br />
* Owen's competition spec cut back blade<br />
* Owen's competition spec internal heat shield<br />
<br />
And of course not forgetting the Tial V-band turbine housing, offering a 33% weight reduction over the standard housing, smaller sizer factor while eliminating the need for bolts and gaskets totally.<br />
<br />
It's pretty damn challenging trying to fit this fella in to the already cramped tight engine bay down there okay.<br />
<br />
Of course, this is not the only reason why we went with the Tial V-band housing. We're trying to spin a big ass turbo here on a 1.5 daily drive, and having this housing helps tremendously in the spooling area due to it's design.<br />
<br />
Once the car is back from piping works, we'll fit in a Tomei fuel pressure regulator and we should be ready to fire up the engine.<br />

A one piece forged build made from Chromoly, JUN claims the flywheel is 200% stronger than normal while weighing in only at 4.6 kilograms.<br />

Moving forward with the stage 2 engine rebuild, now that we're ditching the drive by wire system in favor for a cable driven throttle, we're upgrading the throttle body into something more reliable.<br />
<br />
The S90 Racing throttle body will be a perfect companion to the <a href="http://www.viosturbo.com/2010/12/stage-2-turbo-project-golden-eagle_27.html" target="_blank">Golden Eagle intake manifold</a> that we would be using.<br />
<br />
Made from CNC Billet Aluminium, this throttle body will be able to withstand up to 3 bars of boost without any issues.<br />
<br />
The ball bearing shafts will aid in the respond of the opening and closing of the throttle plate, while the 70mm over sized body will be more than enough to allow compressed air to flow through the manifold.<br />
